Mayfair Lane Fact List

Read about some of the basics of living on Mayfair Lane:

  • The Mayfair Lane Board of Directors is comprised of nine homeowners. Board members serve terms for three years.

Any homeowner can run for election to the Board, as long as they are current on quarterly dues payments and have lived on the lane for at least one year.

A Board election is held every spring at the annual Lane wide meeting.

  • The current quarterly assessment of $2,800, payable to "Mayfair Lane, Inc.," is due on the 1st of February, May, August, and November. Payment should be delivered to the home of Amy Van Osch (board treasurer) at #12 Mayfair Lane.

  • Our pickup day for garbage and recycling is Wednesday.  The large blue totes from the garbage room (combination:  4-3-1) are delivered to the curb on Tuesday. Individual green recycling totes and blue boxes should be delivered to the curb by residents on Tuesday.

The City of Buffalo recycling instructions are available on the City's Public Works, Parks and Streets page.  Please put yard waste in clear bags.

  • There are spigots with hoses on the Upper Lane for communal watering, and residents are asked to keep their individual gardens weeded.

If you have a water spigot in your garden that neighbors also use for summer watering, you can complete our online form to request reimbursement for your inflated water bill. Additionally, you can read the full water policy.

  • For winter: De-icing pellets are stored in the left front storage room (code 4-3-1). There are two kinds: one for the upper Lane (more expensive and to be used only on the flagstone upper lane) and one for the lower Lane, marked accordingly.

  • When parking on the lower Lane, please park up to the white line and do not park in turnarounds.

Please do not park in front of garages — even your own, as that prevents your neighbors who live opposite from using the area in front of your garage as a back-out / pull-in area for their vehicle(s).

Please be cautious about speed on the lower Lane.

  • We recently completed a major restoration project to repair the elevated deck. All information (including photos of construction progress, videos of Lane wide meetings, documents, and updates/alerts pertaining to the project) can be found at on the Lane Restoration page.

  • In addition to posting all Mayfair Lane updates on this website, the Board sends emails to  residents. You can also sign up for updates via text message.
